1980's turbo cars in a nutshell, I can speak of this from first hand experience

80's turbo tech wasn't close to what we have today.

I had a similar experince in a DP 935 Slantnose back in the 80's. Cocaine was a helluva drug, and whoever put that car together came up with a drug free analog. It was tame to the point of "are you serious, this is supposed to thrill me?" until that 3 count before boost. Then it was "AAAAAUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH OH MY GOD! MY EYEBALLS JUST SHOT OUT MY ASS!!!!!!"
